Tips To Clean The Motorsport MAP Sensors:

Generally, most of the car owners would take their car to the garage for an overhaul and get the parts serviced thoroughly. But, a few of them would end up dirtying their hands in cleaning the Motorsport MAP sensors. If you are slightly inclined towards cleaning up the Motorsport MAP sensors all by yourself, here are the steps that can keep you out of risks while you end up cleaning the dirtied parts of your car.

• Let the engine cool

When you are about to start working on the car, you must make sure to cool the engine off completely else, you may end up ruining the entire vehicle. All the parts are connected to the engine and if it isn’t cool then, you may end up spoiling the other important components that are connected to the vehicle. Hence, before touching the Motorsport MAP sensors, you must make sure to keep the vehicle flat and cool the engine completely.

• Get the battery out

Once the engine is cool, you must make sure to touch it with your hands and reconfirm the same. Later, you must make sure to separate the battery just for safety purposes. Once, the battery is disconnected by removing both the positive and negative terminals you can start working on the Motorsport MAP sensors. Generally, these sensors are connected to the electrical connectors and can be easily spotted. Removing the wires carefully become extremely important because if these wires are damaged once then, it can become pretty tough to replace them.

• Separate the MAP sensors

Once you have detached the wires from the electrical connectors you must make sure to remove the vacuum line from these Motorsport MAP sensors. Detaching these sensors is pretty difficult but, at the same time it is not impossible. You must make sure to use the right tools like the pliers to separate the ring from the sensors. After the rings are separated from the sensors, you must loosen the screws by turning them clockwise. Generally, the screws would be loosened with just two or three rotations. 

• Make sure to contain the screws

You must also make sure to keep the screws in a small packet or a container because you may need all of them when you are fitting the parts again. Screws can never be bought again once they are lost. Hence, it is important to keep the screws carefully.

• Use the right cloth to clean the sensor

After you have removed the Motorsport MAP sensors, you must make sure to use the soft cloth to clean the sensors and also dust them properly so that the dust particles would be out of the sensor. Also, you must make sure to use the cleaning spray to clean the sensors. Later, you must make sure to clean the surface of the sensors. Once, the Motorsport MAP sensors are completely dried, reinstalling the part in the same manner would fix the car.
