The Beginner's Guide on How to Buy Right Core Drill Bits for Your Business

A core drill is one of the much-needed necessary tools that you would want to drill through a hard surface and scoop out or drill out a piece of matter. You may need this to drill through a concrete surface, a granite or marble surface, walls, floors, counter tops and so many places where you need to drill holes. Holes are needed to be drilled for wiring, ducting, inserting pipes, making channels for other engineering joints and designs etc. And as a construction worker, electrician, plumber, handyman, and for many other purposes owning the right quality core drill bit, and a few types of various quality core drill bits can be very important for you.

In fact, you would get the right results only when you drill it right. Not just effort, but also time and money is saved when you invest in the right core drilling bits. Whether you are a novice or a beginner, you will have to invest in core drill bits of the right type for the business. The sad part is that you would get lots of places to buy your industrial tools and equipment’s, but you won’t get many places to get the right advice on buying. And as these units are pricey hence buying and experimenting and going through repetitive trial and error can be too expensive for a user.

The question for the beginners is how to select the right diamond drill bit.

#1. Material Hardness
If you are trying to drill a hard material, then you will have to plan your drill bit accordingly. Some materials are too harder than usual. Materials like advanced ceramics, alumina, sapphire, some natural stones, materials of high metal content and huge density, all fall under this category. For drilling through such materials it’s best to use sintered core drill bits. A sintered drill bit is a metal bonded, that has tremendous structural strength. In case of soft material handling which may be like glass, soft stones, composite materials etc, nickel bonded electroplated drill bit would be good enough.

For harder material, you would need softer bonded core drill bits. They would glide much freely and speedily over the material. Again, with softer materials, you would need a hard-bonded core drill bit. Softness protects the drill bit from getting deformed while being used at a fast pace.

#2. Price of The Material
The material price you would be working on matters a lot in choosing your drill bit. In case of working with precious materials, you will have to take care that material loss is prevented as much as possible while you still drill a hole. To ensure calculated drilling and loss of materials you can use thin wall core drill bits. This helps to save costly materials and thus maintain your budget.

#3. Drilling Through Thick Material
When you are buying core drill bits to drill through thicker materials then you will have to ensure that the drill bit contains options to add a water swivel adapter to discharge coolant on the material throughout the process. Any drilling where the thickness is more than one inch may need a coolant and lubricant to go on. Through the center of the drill and the sides of the drill a coolant must be flowing towards the material, or sometimes the material itself should be submerged in a coolant for the process to continue smoothly.

#4. Consider the Material Dimensions, Type, And Density
Core drill bits are of various types and each type is designed to handle materials of varying density, strength and roughness. That is why it’s good to consider all aspects and then go for the best drill bit.
