• Balanced Flue Gas Fire-Though this gas fire does not have 100% efficiency but it gives more than 80% efficiency. It is available in various sizes as well as heat outputs. The constraint for this type of fire is a well-balanced chimney pipe system installation.  The mechanism of this gas fire is to draw in the air, which is fresh from outside and then exhaust it through that pipe itself. The heat output is high in this fire about 5Kw and hence it is used where the requirement of heat is high.

• Power Flue Gas Fires- The efficiency of this fire with more than 85% is less than flue less gas fire but more than balanced flue gas fire. This type of fire uses a special fan to pull the external fresh air and then drive out the exhaust. The pipes in this case are very small and hence it can easily allow a fire to be installed almost anywhere. The pipes have the options to run under the door if it is necessary.

• Bio Ethanol Fireplaces- To fuel these type of fireplaces, you would need nothing other than liquid bio fuel. The main disadvantage is that it has very high running costs and hence is preferred for short time uses at a time. 

• Electric fireplaces- The maximum heat output is 2 KW and the running cost is much more than gas.
